West Chester Resident Dies in Route 322 Crash

A 25-year-old borough resident dies after striking a pole early Sunday morning.

Police say they have identified a man who died in a fatal one-car crash that occurred on Sunday, Feb. 10, just after midnight.

According to police, 25-year-old West Chester resident Rafael Hernandez was traveling alone on Route 322 near the intersection with Creek Road when he lost control of his car and struck a PECO pole.

Officials declared Hernandez dead on the scene due to injuries sustained from the crash.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation, and anyone with information is asked to contact Officer Harry O’Neil or Officer Gerry DiNunzio of the West Chester Police Department.
