West Chester Police Blotter: Prostitution, a Stabbing and Attempted Robbery

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty.

Prostitution: Police arrested 41-year-old Christine Merritt on August 2, on suspicion of prostitution.  An officer was on routine patrol when a passer-by stopped the officer who alleged that Merritt had solicited the passer-by for sex.

Stabbing: Sixty-one-year-old Sheldon Hannibal was arrested on July 23 for alledgedly stabbing a victim near the intersection of High and Gay Streets late that night.  Several witness were able to give a description of the suspect, and the knife was recovered.  The victim suffered several lacerations from the stabbing.

Attempted Burglary: Three men allegedly broke into the home of a West Chester man on the 200 block of East Nields Street late on the night of July 21.  According to the police, the three men wanted to collect a drug debt owed to them by the resident of the home.  The police alledge that the three men who broke into the house were Lucas Smith of Bala Cynwood, Anthony Coyle of Ardmore and Corey Robinson of Sharon Hill
