West Chester Police Blotter: Men Discovered Sleeping in a Gazebo

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty.

Providing a False Name: On September 23, police responded to Marshall Square Park at 8:30 a.m. for a call about subjects sleeping in the park.  Upon arrival, officers found three individuals sleeping in the gazebo.  Police removed two of the men from the premises and arrested a third, Ryan Tayao for allegedly providing a false name.  After his arrest, police discover that Tayao allegedly had several active arrest warrants.

Assault: Police arrested West Chester resident Darrel Singletary, 44, of West Chester on September 18 around 10:30 p.m. near the 600 block of East Union Street.  Police charged Singletary with simple assault, criminal trespassing, false imprisonment, harassment and criminal mischief.

Receiving Stolen Property: Police responded to 222 North Church Street on September 13 after a report of a burglary discovery.  After an investigation, police issued a summons for Steven Gifford, 57, for allegedly receiving stolen property.

Hit and Run: Police charged Antionette Collinson, 21, of Downingtown with hit and run and related traffic offenses after Collinson allegedly hit a pedestrian on the 50 block of South High Street.  According to police, Collinson made an illegal left turn onto South High Street on September 5 as she exited the Bicentennial Garage.  While making the turn, police allege that Collinson struck a pedestrian and fled the scene without providing information or contacting police.

Robbery: On September 16, at 2:30 a.m. officers were flagged down in the 200 block of West Gay Street and were reported a robbery.  After a brief investigation, police arrested Nathaniel Lease, 21, Downingtown, and Barry Lusby, 30, Coatesville, for the alleged robbery.

DUI: On September 9 police were dispatched to the area of creek road and Route 52 after a report of an accident.  When police arrived on the scene the driver of the vehicle had allegedly fled.  Police discovered the driver, James McGeehan, 22, Parkesburg, located allegedly hiding in the woods a short distance away from the crash site.  Police charged McGeehan with DUI and other related offenses.
