West Chester Police Arrest 600 in Three Months

The following information is provided by the West Chester Police Department.

The West Chester Police Department have arrested over 600 people between mid-August and December, 2013, according to a release from the department.

West Chester police have released Fall numbers from their “Operation Vigilance” program, which targets quality-of-life crimes traditionally perpetrated by younger borough residents.

According to the department:

  • 611 people were arrested between August 19 and Dec 1
  • The highest number of arrests in a given week was 102, in the week of Oct7 to Oct 13.
  • The two most common causes for arrest in the Fall were “public drunkenness” and “noise disturbances.”
