West Chester Burns: Two Friday Night Fires

Nov 15 proved to be a busy day for area firefighters.

West Chester first responders were put to the test Friday, was two separate residential fires broke out in the area.

The first, according to First West Chester Fire Company, occurred at approximately 11 p.m. on the 900 block of Fairview Avenue in East Bradford. Fire crews responded to a second floor house fire that took two fire engines and three tankers to get under control.

Shortly after, crews responded to a second fire at the 1200 Block of Ashbridge Road in West Goshen. Crews found a home with a basement fire. A family of four was removed from the house and given assistance from the area Red Cross in the form of money for food, clothes and winter clothing.

The two fires were under control by 1 a.m., according to the fire department.

The Chester County Fire Marshall is currently investigating the two fires.
