WEGO to Begin Police Chief Search

A committee has been assembled to search for a new chief for the Westtown-East Goshen Regional Police Department.

The Daily Local reports that the Westtown-East Goshen Regional Police Department will begin its search for a new police chief on Friday.

According to the Daily Local:

The search will be led by Greg Cary, a former Caln police officer who also led the search resulting in the hire of Pennsylvania State Police Maj. John Laufer in Coatesville. Laufer was officially hired Monday when city council unanimously approved his appointment to the position.

Both townships have formed a committee to conduct the search, and the Daily Local reports that the committee members are:

The committee consists of retired Pennsylvania State Police Maj. Tyree Blocker, Tredyffrin Police Superintendant Anthony Giaimo, and North Coventry Police Chief Robert Schurr, and Mark Hamlin of IBM. In addition, East Goshen manager Rick Smith and Westtown manager Bob Layman will participate in the search.
