Vehicle Strikes and Kills WCU Student

A 21-year-old West Chester University student was struck and killed by a vehicle in the 600 block of South Bolmar Street Monday.

West Goshen police report that a 21-year-old West Chester University student and Nazareth resident named Joseph Pietroforte was struck and killed by a car at approximately 5:18 p.m. on Monday.

Officials pronounced Pietroforte dead at the scene, and the crash is currently under investigation.

According to police the incident occurred in the 600 block of South Bolmar Street when Pietroforte was struck by vehicle allegedly being driven by 80-year-old Glen Mills resident William Eckel.

Eckel was not injured in the incident and has been cooperative with police.

The incident is currently being investigated.
