Parking Garage Crash Leads to DUI Charge, Police Report
According to police, drivers in a pair of recent West Chester accidents were under the influence.
The following incidents were reported by the West Chester Borough Police Department. Arrest, if mentioned, does not suggest conviction.
DUI in Parking Garage
On March 9 at 2 a.m., police were dispatched to the Bicentennial Parking Garage at 20 South High Street for a report of a two-vehicle accident. After an investigation, police discovered that one of the drivers, a 23-year-old West Chester man, was intoxicated. The man failed a series of field sobriety tests and was arrested and charged with DUI.

Lenape Road Crash
On March 1, police were dispatched to the 1000 block of Lenape Road for a report of a one-car accident. At the scene, officers saw a silver Mazda had crashed into a guard rail. The vehicle was badly damaged.

Its driver, a West Chester man, was clearly under the influence of alcohol, according to police, and was arrested on the scene. He was charged with DUI and careless driving.
