Report: West Chester Man Pleads Guilty to Child Porn Possession

A borough resident pleads guilty to possession of child pornography after being convicted of a similar charge four years ago.

According to the Daily Local, a West Chester man named Larry Crosson plead guilty to possession of child pornography charges on Monday four years after being convicted of a similar charge.

According to the Daily Local:

The attorney for Larry D. Crosson said that her client had tried and failed to contain his obsession with the forbidden material.
“He did try to toe the line to some extent,” Assistant Public Defender Kathleen Boyer told Common Pleas Court Judge Jacqueline C. Cody, who accepted the plea agreement. But he was unable to control himself, she said. However, Boyer said there was no evidence that would suggest that Crosson had any illicit physical contact with children.
Crosson, 56, lived on West Market Street. He will be formally sentenced to a state prison term of 14 years and seven months to 30 years. He was sentenced under a section of the state’s Megan’s Law that calls for a possible mandatory minimum sentence of 25 years for repeat offenders.
He will now be evaluated by the state’s Sexual Offenders Assessment Board to determine whether he meets the characteristics of a sexually violent predator. If so, the community would be notified of his address upon his release from state prison.
