Report: Police Arrest Man for Early Morning Crime Spree

Police arrested a 19-year-old Thornbury resident for 21 counts, including burglary, theft, criminal trespass, driving under the influence and other offenses.

ABC News Philadelphia reports that police have arrested a 19-year-old Thornbury Township resident named Alexander Bolte after he allegedly broke into several homes in the Westtown-Thornbury area.

According to ABC:

Alexander S. Bolte, 19, of the 300 block of Old Bailey Lane in Thornbury Twp., is charged with 21 counts, including burglary, theft, criminal trespass, driving under the influence and other offenses.

Police say it began around 2:53 Wednesday morning with the report of a burglary in the 200 block of William Penn Blvd. in Thornbury Twp. Police say the homeowner found Bolte, whom the homeowner knew, in a bedroom of the residence. Bolte fled from the residence on foot before police arrived. Officers descended on the area and searched for Bolte, who was reported to be wearing a black hooded sweatshirt.

ABC reports that police pursued Bolte until 3:40 a.m. when he crashed the allegedly stolen Jeep he was driving through a fence.

ABC says:

The officer lost sight of the Jeep on Westbourne Road in Westtown Township. Officers checked the area, and few minutes later, at 3:40 a.m., they found the Jeep crashed through a fence in front of a home in the 700 block of Westbourne Road in Westtown Township. Bolte was in the car, and police arrested him. Police say he failed field sobriety tests at the scene.

Police say Bolte stole the silver Jeep from a residence in the 600 block of South Westbourne Road in Thornbury Township after finding the keys to the vehicle inside. The vehicle suffered damage as well as the landscape and fence where the vehicle left Westbourne Road. Inside the car, police say they found the items stolen from the parked cars on Zachary Drive.
