Police: Man Allegedly Steals $100 and Cigarettes from Girlfriend

All suspects innocent until proven guilty.

Robbery: On Sept. 17, at approximately 10:30 p.m. West Chester police responded to a physical domestic incident that occurred on East Nields Street.  The victim was assaulted by her boyfriend who allegedly forcefully removed $100 and a pack of Newport cigarettes.  Police located the offender at the intersection of South Franklin and Lacey Streets.  The 38-year-old Berwyn resident was charged with alleged robbery, unlawful taking, simple assault and receiving stolen property.

Assault: On Sept. 16, at 1:33 a.m., police arrested Downingtown resident Christopher Book for aggravated assault and resisting arrest.  Book was observed allegedly being disorderly in the 50 block of North Church Street, and while being placed under arrest, Book attempted to flee.  During the struggle two officers received minor injuries.
