Police Investigating Daytime Home Robbery

The following information is provided by the Westtown Police Department.

The following information comes from the Westtown Police Department:

The Westtown-East Goshen Regional Police Department is investigating a daytime residential burglary that occurred at a single family home in the 200 block of Greentree Drive in Thornbury.

The homeowners were away from the residence between 11:30 AM and 2:30 PM. Unknown individual broke into home by prying a rear basement door and stole items from the house.

According to reports, a young male wearing a red ball cap knocked at another house in the same block. Dogs inside the home barked and the man walked away from the home and entered a small dark sedan with Delaware plates that was backed into the driveway. No other occupants were in the vehicle.

The Westtown-East Goshen Regional Police Department is seeking any information on the individual or vehicle. Police also urge residents to call 911 if someone unexpected stops at the home provides information that is unusual. In prior investigations police have established the intruders will often knock hard on the front door of the home to determine if anyone is inside. Once the intruder determines the home is not occupied, they normally go to a door that is concealed from the street and force entry.
