Police Confirm that Dunn was Legally Drunk at Time of Crash

West Goshen Police say that Ryan Dunn had a blood alcohol content of .196 at the time of the crash.

West Goshen police have confirmed that Ryan Dunn was legally drunk at the time of the car crash that killed him and passenger Zachary Hartwell early Monday morning.

The toxicology report released by the Chester County's Coroner's Office states that Dunn had a blood alcohol content level of .196, twice the legal limit of .08.

The coroner's report did not find anything other substances in Dunn's blood.

Early Monday morning Dunn lost control of his car and crashed through a guardrail at a reported speed of 130 MPH.  The car went down into a ditch and crashed through 40 yards of tress before hitting the last tree and bursting into flames.

The coroner ruled on Tuesday that the causes of death were blunt force trauma and thermal trauma.

A witness at the scene identified Dunn by his tatoos, and the body of Hartwell was not identified until early Tuesday.

According to NBC 10, Dunn and Hartwell died just 100 yards from Hartwell's West Chester home.
