One Man is Shot, A Second Injured Overnight in West Chester, Police Say

A Chester County man faces attempted homicide charges following an altercation in the heart of downtown West Chester, according to police.

West Chester Police say one man from Harrisburg is being treated for gunshot wounds, a second Harrisburg man is suffering less serious injuries and a man from Kennett Square faces attempted homicide charges after an overnight shooting and assault incident in the Borough.

Full details are still being investigated, but according to police some kind of altercation broke out between the two victims and a small group of people, including the man accused of opening fire. Police say it happened just after 2 a.m. Sunday morning "in the 50 block of North Church Street' in Downtown West Chester.

West Chester Police Chief Scott Bohn says Jason Hotchkin, 43, of Harrisburg was taken to the trauma center at Paoli Hospital where police say he was listed in serious condition as of Sunday morning. Police say Hotchkin was shot multiple times in the leg, arms and back.

Police say Maffat Odvor, 43, also from Harrisburg, was treated at Chester County Hospital for "minor injuries from assault." 

Police say 25-year-old Curtis Zebley of Kennett Square is being charged with attempted homicide and related charges. He was being held by West Chester Police Sunday morning, awaiting arraignment. Police say Zebley was expected to be arraigned via video connection to a magistrate Sunday evening.  He would then either post bail or be taken to the Chester County prison to await further court hearings.
