Man Swipes Money from Bar, Punches Employee, Police Say

According to West Chester Police, the defendant was in possession of a controlled substance at the time of the incident.

A 23-year-old Coatesville man was arrested earlier this month after police say he stole from a Landmark Americana Tap & Grill employee and assaulted the man.

On March 9 at 11:15 p.m., West Chester Police were called to the bar for a reported theft. According to the department, the manager of the bar told police that the defendant, a patron, had swiped money from the bar that didn’t belong to him. Police say the manager confirmed this suspicion after reviewing security footage.

Police say that while they were escorting the defendant from the bar, he turned and punched a Landmark employee in the side of the head with a closed fist.
