Man Robbed at Gunpoint on Washington Street

A man walking on Washington Street is robbed at gunpoint by a group of juveniles.

Theft: On Jan. 19, at approximately 10:24 p.m. West Chester police responded to an unknown event in the 300 block of West Washington Street.  Upon arrival it was determined that four to six juveniles had conducted a gunpoint robbery of a pedestrian walking in the block.  One juvenile displayed a small caliber handgun and demanded the victim’s money.  After turning over his wallet four subjects began to assault the victim.

A 16-year-old juvenile of West Chester was located in Veteran’s Memorial Park and positively identified as being a participant in the robbery.  The juvenile was detained in the Chester County Youth Center and charged with conspiracy to commit robbery, conspiracy to commit theft by unlawful taking and conspiracy to commit simple assault.
