Man Charged in East Nields St. Hit-and-Run

According to West Chester PD, the crash occurred on Friday.

The following incidents were reported by the West Chester Borough Police Department. Arrest, when mentioned, does not suggest conviction.

Driver Charged in Hit-and-Run 

On Friday, police received word of a hit-and-run crash that occurred on the 100 block of East Nields Street. A West Chester Police officer saw the striking vehicle, a black Ford Ranger with front-end damage, pulling away from the area, police say. The officer stopped the vehicle, which was being driven by a 21-year-old Garnett Valley man. Police say the man took and failed a series of field sobriety tests, and was charged with DUI.

DUI on East Market

On Saturday at 1:48 a.m., a 23-year-old Chester Springs man was pulled over on the 600 block of East Market Street for driving dangerously and traveling the wrong way on a one way street, West Chester Police are reporting. The man was arrested and charged with DUI after he failed a series of field sobriety tests, police say.

Matlack Street DUI

On Sunday at 2:20 a.m., a driver failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Rosedale and Matlack streets, West Chester Police say. The man was found to be under the influence of alcohol and was arrested and charged with DUI and stop sign violations, according to police.

Man Arrested for Violating Restraining Order

On Monday at 6:30 p.m., West Chester Police responded to an apartment on the 300 block of South Matlack Street for a protection from abuse violation, the department is reporting. A 23-year-old Coatesville man was located inside the apartment, in violation of a restraining order, and the man was arrested and charged with indirect criminal contempt, police say. The defendant was confined to Chester County Prison when he was unable to post bail.
