Drunken West Chester Man Crashes into Phone Pole, Police Say

A utility pole at East Union and Franklin streets was damaged.

West Goshen Police arrested a 22-year-old West Chester man last month after, the department says, he struck a telephone pole at East Union and Franklin Street.

According to police, at 3 a.m. March 30, the driver was pulled over after he was seen driving on South Matlack Street near East Rosedale Avenue without headlights and with serious damage to the front end of his car.

Police say they determined the driver had sustained the damage to his car by crashing into a telephone pole in the borough, and that he was intoxicated at the time of the accident.
