Drunken Driver Just Misses 3 Pedestrians, West Chester Police Say

The man was arrested for DUI after catastrophe was averted on South Darlington Street.

The following incidents were reported by the West Chester Borough Police Department. Arrest, when mentioned, does not suggest conviction.

Police: Drunken Driver Nearly Strikes Pedestrians 

A 26-year-old Drexel Hill man was charged with DUI earlier this month after West Chester Police say he almost struck several pedestrians when he swerved onto a sidewalk in the borough. According to court documents, on April 14, the man was heading north on South Darlington Street in his Honda Accord when he drove onto the east sidewalk and just missed three walkers. The man was stopped on the 100 block of West Market Street and charged with DUI, police say.

DUI on Market Street 

On April 8 at 2 a.m., West Chester Police charged a man with DUI after he was pulled over for driving without headlights. According to police, the driver was stopped on Market Street and officers noticed that he smelled like alcohol. He was arrested and charged with DUI.
