Caregiver Allegedly Steals from Elderly Woman

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty.

Theft: On Nov. 5, the West Goshen Police Department received a report of theft in which the victim is an elderly female who requires in-home car and the suspect was the victim’s caretaker.  An investigation revealed that the caretaker, Michelle Murrey, 28, allegedly was stealing blank check from the victim, writing the checks herself and then cashing the checks.  Murrey allegedly began these thefts in December 2012 and continued into November.  The total amount stolen allegedly approached $3,000.  On Dec. 19, Murrey was arrested and charged with the crimes.

Theft: West Goshen police are investigating a theft from several vehicles overnight from Pine Street Carpenters located at 901 South Bolmar Street.  The theft occurred beween 5 p.m. on Dec. 19 and 7 a.m. on Dec. 20.  The actors broke several windows and removed tools from inside the vehicles.  The estimated value of the damage and theft is $1500.
