West Chester Growers Market Preview

Here's a preview of what vendors will be at the West Chester Growers' Market on Saturday courtesy of their blog.

Red Earth Farm Red Earth Farm will be offering string beans and cucumbers this week, as well as head lettuce, salad mix, chard, kale beets, summer squash and more.  Look also for the first sunflowers bouquets of the summer!

Applied Climatology LLC: It’s daylily season!  All of our daylilies will be on sale starting this weekend and through July.  We grow them from bare root and have very small quantities of very unusual varieties.  Be sure to pick them up before they are sold out! This Saturday, we will have four beautiful and unusual varieties of Hydrangeas, all of which are in bloom.   We will also have many favorites, including:  Monarda, Shasta Daisies, Astilbe, Raspberry plants, Gaillardia, Irises, Heucheras, Sambucus (shrub), Echinacea, Coreopsis & Butterfly Bushes.

London Vale Farm: It’s that time of year again!  This weekend we will have fresh SWEET CORN available.  Also new this week:  pickling cucumbers.  We will have plenty of other fresh produce available including:  Tomatoes (large and grape varieties), new potatoes (red & white varieties), broccoli, zucchini, yellow squash, beets (red & gold varieties), scallions, green beans, cabbage (red & green varieties), Swiss chard, collard greens & kale.  Don’t forget to pick up some of our brown eggs, produced by happy cage-free chickens!

Bryer Apiary Jeff Bryer of Bryer Apiary will be bringing plenty of raw, local, Chester County honey to this Saturday's market.  He has been busy bottling honey and will have both glass and plastic squeeze containers in many sizes.  He attends the Growers Market once per month and Saturday is a good time to stock up!

Chile Spot

Chile Spot will be having an amazing 2 for 1 sale on its remaining Chile Pepper and Heirloom Tomato seedlings; we have plenty of the ultra hot varieties including the 4 hottest chile peppers in the world as well as plenty of other mild and medium varieties. We will also have all of our chile pepper jams including our Strawberry Habanero Pepper Jam in our new jars. We'll also have all of our hot sauces including our Raspberry Rush Sauce which combines the Red Raspberry with Red Habanero chile pepper and some Oranges - this hot sauce has been out of stock for the last month so be sure to stop by and give it a try. ~~~
