Route 202 Nighttime Lane Closures Near West Chester Next Week

Crews will work on 202 between Matlack Street and the Route 100 interchange.

Crews are scheduled to work on Route 202 between Matlack Street and Route 100 in West Goshen Township, Chester County on Monday through Friday (April 9-13) from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. to prepare the highway for resurfacing, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced today.

Overnight travel on northbound and southbound Route 202 will be reduced to a single lane at night next week as crews mill the pavement, adjust utility manholes and perform other operations in preparation for paving this part of the highway. Final paving operations are expected to start April 15.

The upcoming resurfacing of Route 202 is one of the final operations of PennDOT’s $19.3 million project to improve 4.3 miles of the highway between the Route 100 Interchange and High Street (Bus. Route 322) in West Goshen and Westtown townships. Construction started in May 2010 and is scheduled to finish in late May 2012.
