Winter Storm Warning in Effect for Thursday

Wind chills as low as zero have been forecasted for Thursday night.

A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for the Eastern Chester County area, according to the National Weather Service.

The warning, which will last from 6 p.m. Thursday night into Friday, predicts as many as seven inches of snow for the Greater Philadelphia Area.

“Widespread snow is expected Thursday night and Friday morning,” the release states. “Travel should become hazardous Thursday evening as snow beings to accumulate.”

The forecast states that wind gusts up to 40 miles per hour can be expected during the warning time period. Temperatures are expected to drop into the teens, and flash freezing could occur.

“Very cold temperatures and low wind chills are expected to begin Thursday night into Friday morning, and continue through Friday night and Saturday morning. The combination of cold temperatures and blustery winds will lead to wind chill … near or below zero during this period,” the weather service has stated on its website.
