Businessman Enters Race for Congress to Replace Gerlach

A West Chester businessman will run as a Democrat.

A West Point grad and Army vet turned Chester County Businessman is throwing his hat in the ring for the Democrat party nomination in the Sixth Congressional District Race.

Mike Parrish says he is a former Republican now running as a democrat for the seat currently held by retiring six term Congressman Jim Gerlach (R-PA6).

in addition to his military service (he is currently a Colonel in the reserves) Parrish brings an extensive background in big business working with military contractors. According to the Parrish campaign website: "starting at General Electric in 1998, Mike helped modernize global delivery services in order to save millions of dollars while improving on time delivery performance.  In 2003, he founded Equisol LLC, an environmental services company, and grew the business into a $10 million company with 100 employees in four years. Mike went on to serve as the Chairman and CEO of Environmental Infrastructure Holdings Corporation where he increased profitability by 115% and improved shareholders equity by over 200% in less than two years.  Currently, Mike is the CEO of Daleco Resources Corporation in West Chester, Pennsylvania."

According to his website, Parrish lives in Malvern and has three children, ages 11, 8 and 4.  The site makes no mention of a spouse or former spouse.  According his biography on the Daleco site Parrish is 49 years old.
