WCU to Celebrate Martin Luther King

The university will hold its 19th annual MLK celebration Thursday, Jan. 26.

While today marks the official day we honor the life and work of Martin Luther King, will hold its 19th annual MLK celebration on Thursday, Jan 26.

The University will honor the civil rights activist with a full schedule of concerts, meals and opportunities to help out in the community.

10 a.m.  19th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Brunch.

               Sykes Student Union Ballroom

               Tickets: $35 per person or $280 for a table of eight.

12:15 p.m. WCU Gospel Choir Performance

                     Sykes Student Union Theatre

3-5 p.m. Giving Comfort to Children in the Hospital

                Sykes Student Union Ballrooms

                 Fleece blankets will be made for the DuPont Hospital for Children

4:30-7 p.m. Soul Food Dinner

                     Rams Head Food Court, Sykes Student Union

                     Students may use their meal plan.  All other guests: $6.50

8 p.m. Free Screening of “The Help”

            Sykes Student Union Theatre
