This Week's Round of 202 Closures

The project continues.

Nighttime lane closures are scheduled next week (Nov. 13-18) on two sections of Route 202 in Chester County for ongoing road construction, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced today.

Southbound Route 202 will be reduced from two lanes to one between the Chesterbrook and Route 401 interchanges in Tredyffrin and East Whiteland townships on Sunday through Thursday (Nov. 13-17) from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for barrier placement and line striping.

This work is part of PennDOT’s $105.4 million project to add a third travel lane in each direction on Route 202 from just south of the Route 252 Interchange in Tredyffrin Township to just north of the Route 401 Interchange in East Whiteland Township. Northbound and southbound Route 202 also will be restricted to one lane between Route 100 and Matlack Street in West Goshen Township on Monday through Friday (Nov. 14-18) for guide rail replacement and drain cleaning. Northbound Route 202 will be down to a single lane each night from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next morning. The southbound lane closure will be in effect from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

This work is part of PennDOT’s $19.3 million project to rehabilitate and resurface 4.3 miles of Route 202 between the Route 100 Interchange and High Street. Construction began in May 2010 and is scheduled to finish in May 2012.

Motorists are advised to allow additional time for travel through both construction areas because backups will occur.
