Moms Talk: Swimming Pools

Our local moms talk about their favorite places to swim.

Today we have assembled a panel of three local moms to get the inside scoop on what to do, where to buy stuff, and where to dine with the toddler set.

Are you a member of any local swim clubs or gyms with pools? What do you love and/or hate about them?

Nicole:  We LOVE as a swim club- 2 huge indoor pools, one pool that is indoor in winter/outdoors in summer, and a rocking water park for the summer months.   The waterslides are a big hit for the toddler and the big kids in our house, and the after swim treats from the café (Yummy Smoothies and Sweet Potato fries) quickly, and deliciously, undo the benefits of any exercise.

Sarah: My children’s grandparents belong to and we love going there whenever we can. For our budget, though, the is best since they have income based memberships, and that applies to the outdoor pool as well.

Julie: We joined swim club last year but found that there were a lot of cliques and do not plan on joining this year!

Sayre:  We are new YMCA members and have been spending a lot of time in the toddler pool. We don't plan on joining the outdoor pool- mostly because I grew up in Florida and am not a fan of spending time outdoors in sweltering heat with a bunch of strangers and their children a la Disney... That being said, we're able to be picky because we are blessed with wonderful family and one relative has a pool!
