Moms Talk: Children's Shops

Area moms talk about their favorite children's stores.

Today we have assembled a panel of three local moms to get the inside scoop on what to do, where to buy stuff, and where to dine with the toddler set. Joining us are Nicole Wiley, Allison Treston, and Ramsey Cotherman.

Patch: Are there any children's shops or boutiques in the area that you couldn't get by without? A toy shop or bookstore or consignment shop?

Nicole: We have a book addiction, and the two locations of the Second Reading used book store can't be beat. The location in the Parkway shopping center tends to have a better selection of kids books (bonus points for Richard Scarry and Sweet Valley High) and the borough location is a great place to browse if I'm without stroller.

Ramsey: As far as children's shops and boutiques go, I love the Chester County Bookstore. They have a cute little reading area that Max enjoys venturing around in. And the employee personalized displays guarantee that not only will I find something that Max needs for his library, but I will too! For the record, I should mention that before we drive there I try to make sure we have visited the West Chester Public Library first. Their 2nd floor is devoted to kids. It's complete with computers, reading tables and beanbag chairs and even a puppet show stage. Amazing!

Allison:  Butterflies and Blossoms is a great consignment shop. They have a little bit of everything there. I also like that bookstore on High Street, Ardvark Books (I think). Everything is $3.99- great for gifts and for a little something for the kids.
