Here's a list of the top family-friendly things going on this week in West Chester.

Sometimes it's hard to find things to do as a family.  So Patch wants to help.  Every week we are going to publish a list of the best family-freindly events going on in the area.  We're looking for things that are fun, close-by and cheap.

When/Where: Chester County Historical Society, Sat. Feb 26, 1 p.m.

Why Go: Mush! Chester County Historical Society hosts a visit with a genuine sled dog. Learn more about the roles of sled dogs with this hands-on demonstration. RSVP to the Historical Society.

Pricing: Free for CCHS members; $6 for Adults, $5 for Seniors, $3.50 for Students/Children, Free for Children (5 and under)

When/Where: The Painted Plate, Sat. Feb. 26, 6 p.m. - 9 p.m.

Why Go: The painted plate lets you choose paint and desgin your own piece of pottery.  Make a mug, vase or plate to call your own.  Family night includes complimentary pizza and soda.

Pricing: The price of the piece of potery plus a 50 percent studio fee that includes the use of all necessary artistic supplies.

Where/When: West Chester Public Library, Mar. 2, 4 p.m. - 8p.m.

Why Go: The Teen Advisory Board of West Chester Public Library hosts a bake sale in support of Young Adult books and programming. Sample delicious treats while checking out TAB's choices for Young Adult awards.
