Here's a list of the top family-friendly things going on this week in West Chester.

Sometimes it's hard to find things to do as a family.  So Patch wants to help.  Every week we are going to publish a list of the best family-freindly events going on in the area.  We're looking for things that are fun, close-by and cheap.

1. Celebration of Black History Month and the American Helicopter Museum

Why Go: Actress Daisy Century presents re-enactments of the first licensed African-American pilot at 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. John Grant, one of the Tuskegee Airman, will speak at noon in the museum's theater.  The event will be held on Sat. Feb. 19.

2. Chess for Kids at West Chester Public Library

Why Go : Kids ages six and up are invited to the library on Sat. Feb. 19, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. to learn how to play chess and work on their game.

3. Middle School Honors Band Concert at Fugett Middle School

Why Go: Come watch as the best young muscians in the West Chester Area School Districts display their musical talents.  The concert starts at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday Feb. 23.

4. Stroytime at Chester County Book and Music Company

Why Go: On Wed. Feb. 23, starting at 10:30 a.m., children between the ages of three and six can enjoy stroytime.
