Why Go: The East Goshen Farmers' Market boasts locally-grown produce, meats and baked goods along with artisan soaps, flowers and candies. Pick up some goodies for dinner at home, or bring your appetite and dine on "ready to eat" meals in the Pavillion. There are activities for the kids and live music to round out the evening.

Where/When: West Chester University Planetarium, Friday, September 16, at 7 p.m.

Why Go: The WCU Planetarium presents "Our Milky Way Galaxy". Tickets are currently on sale at the Sykes Student Union. Shows start promptly at 7 p.m., and late arrivals will not be admitted.

Pricing: $5 per person

Where/When: , Saturday, September 17, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Why Go: Bring the family for a day full of fun at East Bradford Day 2011. The day includes amusement rides, canoes and paddleboats, food from Hickory House catering, vendors and demonstrations. “Stubby” the Helicopter from the American Helicopter Museum & Education Center will even be on hand for climbing and pretend-flying fun! As always, this free event is rain or shine.

Where/When: Downtown West Chester, Sunday, September 18, from 12:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Why Go: The Chester County Restaurant Festival showcases area food and artisans in the biggest festival of the year. Live bands perform among the delicious, gourmet, ethnic, and unique restaurant favorites. Don't miss the Chester County Culinary Cook Off in the afternoon, when four local chefs compete in a series of challenges for the Top Chef award!
