Flood Warning Issued for the Brandywine

The Brandywine is already five feet over its flood stage.

The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for the Brandywine Creek near Chadds Ford.

At 9:30 a.m. Sunday, the river was measured at a height of 14.1 feet, the river's flood stage is at 9 feet.  The river will continue to rise through the day expecting to peak at 17 feet this afternoon.

Flooding is expected to subside by late Monday morning.

If you are traveling by foot or vehicle near the Brandywine do not try to pass through flooded areas.
