Five Things to Know About This Weekend

Everybody loves lists.

With the weekend upon us, and possibly Judgement Day, we thought it would be best to take a look around West Chester and highlight some things that might have fallen through the cracks.

...What's this about Judgement Day?

Christian radio host Harold Camping has predicted that the Rapture will begin Saturday at 6 p.m. local time.  Camping first predicted that the end of the world would happen in 1994.  Unless he was referring to Zubaz pants, I think he was wrong.

Playoffs? I just hope we can win a game

District Playoffs are already underway for lacrosse, and the West Chester East girls were eliminated by North Penn way back on Tuesday.  Baseball and Softball playoffs begin on Monday.  Both West Chester Henderson and West Chester East are ranked in the Philly Inquirer baseball regional top 10.

Rain, seriously, stay away

Rain is still in the forecast for Friday and Sunday, but Saturday should be sunny and warm.  Time to get outside.

Speaking of going outside

The Chester County Hospital is hosting its 28th Annual .  Starting Friday evening and lasting until Sunday, there will be games, rides and delicious, delicious funnel cake for all comers.

Finally, some boring stuff about the school board budget

The West Chester School District has announced that it will hold a special meeting on Monday, June 6, at 7:30 p.m. to adopt its final budget for the 2011-2012 school year.  It's been an arduous process for those guys, but at least they can be relieved that next year is going to be even worse.
