Want to get out of town and go for a trip, but looking to save money?

Try one of these three trips you can enjoy on just one tank of gas: Wayne Art Center in Wayne, West Chester Growers Market in West Chester and Jasper Park in Emmaus.

Wayne Art Center

Address: 413 Maplewood Ave., Wayne

  • Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.


Summary: Wayne Art Center provides both in-studio art instruction and regular exhibits, lectures and programs. The center affords artists an interdisciplinary venue to share, learn, exhibit and perform.  Upcoming exhibits include Decorative Objects from Chanticleer Gardens (February 12 through March 10) and Expressions of Radnor (February 12 through March 24).

West Chester Growers Market

Summary:  As Mother Nature continues to bless the area with mild weather, making a stop at the West Chester Growers Market is still a great way to spend a Saturday morning. The West Chester Growers Market is a local market that offers homegrown and handmade products, including produce, plants, free-range meats, baked goods and more. Area vendors are a staple at the market, and you can count on seasonal harvests, as well as some non-produce products in between.

Jasper Park

Address: 4960 Vera Cruz Road, Emmaus
How Far From Your Patch? 45 miles or 1 hour and 17 minutes
Admission: Free parking and free admission
Hours: Open daily dawn to dusk
Summary: This 27-acre park in Lehigh County features a fitness trail, playground, picnic tables and something unusual--indentations in the woods that indicate thousands of years before European settlers arrived. Jasper is a smooth but sharp stone that can be worked into arrow heads, knives and tools. Removal of jasper from the park is illegal. of the Leni Lenape greets visitors at the park entrance.
