5 Things - Halloween Safety Tips from the PSP

This week's 5 Things comes from the state police.

The following was sent in by the Pennsylvania State Police Skippack Barracks:

As Halloween approaches, the Pennsylvania State Police, Skippack Barracks would like to remind the community of the following safety tips:

1. Parents are urged to place reflective tape on their children's costumes so they can clearly be seen while walking.

2. Parents are encouraged to accompany their children with flashlights on Halloween night, and not permit children to walk alone.

3. Parents are urged to examine their children's Halloween candy before allowing it to be eaten.

4. Motorists are advised to be cautious of 'Trick-or-Treaters' who, wit hthe excitement of Halloween, may forget their pedestrian safety rules.

5. All are reminded to respect the property of others, so that everyone may have a safe and fun Halloween.
