202 Closures Scheduled for After the New Year

PennDot schedules lane closures for 202 as the project enters the home stretch.

The following is a press release from PennDot.

Nighttime lane closures are scheduled on Route 202 between the Paoli Pike and Route 100 interchanges in , Chester County on Tuesday, Jan. 3 through Friday, Jan. 6 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for the removal and installation of overhead sign structures, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced today.

In addition, the southbound Route 202 off-ramp to Paoli Pike will be closed from 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3 to 5 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4 for the removal of an overhead sign structure. The posted detour will take southbound Route 202 motorists to the Westtown Road exit, then left on Westtown Road, left at the on-ramp to Route 202 North and north on Route 202 to the Paoli Pike exit.

PennDOT advises motorists to allow additional time for travel on this section of Route 202 during construction or use an alternate route because backups will occur.

This operation is part of PennDOT’s $19.3 million project to rehabilitate and resurface 4.3 miles of Route 202 between the Route 100 Interchange and High Street. Construction began in May 2010 and is scheduled to finish in May 2012.

Allan A. Myers, LP of Worcester, Montgomery County is the general contractor on the $19,377,081 project that is financed with 100 percent federal ARRA funds.
