BVBC Brewmasters Blog #001

Carbonation bubbling up from the bottom of your favorite glass releases floral and tropical fruit aromas, forms a tight, creamy, off white foam over the liquid gold beneath and invites you to the first sip which fills your mouth with a complex explosion of flavors which attack an array of  unique receptors on your palate in a chain reaction of taste sensations before coming together in a magically satisfying resolution.

If you have clicked on this blog, you have probably already experienced the Craft Beer Revolution either personally or through a family member or friend.  You may be noticing pyramids of craft beer six-packs stealing your attention while checking out at Wegmans or Giant.  Or been handed a corked and caged bottle of craft beer (when in the past that gifted beverage was wine or champagne) by a guest when hosting a holiday party.  You may have even gone so far as to attend a craft beer festival or followed a Twitter clue to a specific bar for a rare or special beer.

Beer drinkers’ tastes have changed dramatically in the US in the past decade after succumbing to the depths of corporate marketing campaigns selling less calories and colder is better as attributes for great beer while ignoring the bounty of options that the world’s craft brewers have been offering for centuries, actually millennia.  Before Prohibition, there were local breweries in most every small town in America, often the very first businesses chartered, and the only purveyors of clean and healthful hydration.  Artisan wasn’t just a choice at that time, it was the only option.

My buddies and I have been brewing our own beer for more than a decade chasing that perfect experience through trial, error and lots of R&D (patronizing our favorite breweries for sustenance and inspiration).  The product of all of that hard work and dedication is our fledgling Nano-brewery, Brandywine Valley Brewing Collective or BVBC.  We believe that the bringing together of our diverse backgrounds and experiences, much like the alchemy involved in the bringing together of ingredients in our craft beer creations, allows our brewery to pour that magic into every pint glass.  We hope that in the coming months and years we will be a growing influence in your personal Craft Beer Revolution.

Check back weekly for updates on what’s brewing at BVBC, insights into the world of craft brewing and what’s new and interesting in our pint glasses.
