Honey, Peaches and Watermelons at This Week's Growers Market

A preview of what will be featured at the West Chester Growers Market this Saturday.  All information provided by the West Chester Growers' Market Blog.

Bryer Apiary The 2012 honey has been harvested and will be available at the market this Saturday.  While last winter was an unusual one regarding warmer weather and spring came early, the hives did well and produced a good crop.  The honey seems to be slightly lighter in color this year. 
          
After honey is removed from the extracting supers, the bees remove any remaining honey from the equipment and take it back to their hives for storage.  See photo of bees at work with this job.
          
Stop by the market this Saturday to pickup a bottle of 2012 honey!

Schaeffer Flowers We will have lots of zinnias, sunflowers and lisianthus.

Northstar Orchard We'll have white and yellow peaches, a couple kinds of apples, garlic, chard, lettuce, heirloom tomatoes, and whatever else is ripe and ready.
