Avante Opens Barber Shop within a Salon in WC

Avante Salon in West Chester established itself as "The Klip Joint" years ago. Now it's being relaunched in a Victorian townhouse on High Street.

The shop announced its new incarnation last week with an event posting on West Chester Patch.

The Avanté family of salons and spas welcomes it's newest addition. Avanté on High Street features both a full service salon as well as the "Men's Loft", a second floor barber shop retreat.

The "retreat" for men features a big screen TV for sports, cold beer on request, barber tools in auto repair shop tool boxes and, oh yeah, actual barbers.

Shane Gruber and Dave Hardy cut men's hair on the second floor of the townhouse. Men can either go in the Avante front door and climb the stairs up to the men's "loft" or use a separate door in the back of the building, accessible through a parking lot.

"It's a nice relaxing atmosphere," Shane says of his man cave/barber shop.

The cost for a men's haircut is $20 for men, $15 for kids and senior citizens.
