Third Annual Chester County Studio Tour This Weekend

The event will feature works of local artists on Saturday and Sunday.

Enjoy live music, art displays and a book signing at the Third Annual Chester County Studio Tour.  At this free studio tour, visitors get the chance see the work of  12 distinctly different artists  - from “pop” artists to traditional landscape painters – who are gathering this weekend at two locations.   This is a chance to purchase the art work of some of Chester County’s best known artists – all without gallery commissions.

Catherine Quillman, author of the newly released book, 100 Artists of the Brandywine Valley, will sign copies of her book, which showcases several of the studio tour artists.

According to Jeff Schaller, whose brightly-decorated “Pop” art studio is practically a neighborhood landmark, the annual tour grew out of several years of discussions when  the group held monthly meetings at their studios to critique one another’s art work.  They came up with the idea of grouping several artists in two locations, Schaller’s studio and that of David Oleski, located on a property featuring a large pond, a short drive away through  scenic woods and rolling hills.

For this year’s tour, the group mailed more than 4,000 flyers, and handed out an additional 2,000 flyers.  The group also plans to hold a raffle of  Quillman’s book, which will be autographed by the participating artists from both studio locations including Schaller and Oleski. “We expect a good crowd,” says Schaller.
