Join a New Artists Cooperative

    West Chester artist Mary Beaumont will be the
featured artist for a summer art show this weekend.  The opening reception of the HOT, HOT, HOT Summer Art Nights in the City Show is from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 13.  The art show is sponsored by a new artist co-operative, "Art on Avenue of the States,"  in downtown Chester, PA.

    The opening reception for the art show is at the "Raw Space," located at 504 Avenue of the States.   Stop in
anytime between 5 to 8 p.m. The public is also invited to the Chester Business Association Meet and Greet next door.

After 8 pm., join the artists to hear a live performance of "53 Stations" jazz group at Andre Café Acoustique at 5th and Edgemont.

    Beaumont is featured in the book 100 Artists of the Brandywine Valley, and is an active exhibitor in the West Chester area. Her childhood ambition was to study
art at her father’s alma mater, the Pennsylvania Academy. She graduated in 1984 and remains so connected to school, recommending it to her students at Chester
County Art Association (where she has taught since 1991) and exhibiting in its annual fellowship shows, she has become a kind of Academy ambassador in her
hometown.

    "Art on Avenue of the States,"  is the only artists cooperative outside Philadelphia.  Its gallery space, called "the Raw Gallery," is located in a historic section of downtown Chester, a few doors down from the research library and museum of the Delaware County Historical Society and the circa 1724 former Chester courthouse.

The exhibit continues Saturday, July 14 from 12 Noon to 5 pm.
