The Philip Sharpless House at 400 S. Church Street. Built in 1838. Architect was possibly Thomas U. Walter (CC Courthouse, now Well Fargo Bank and may more) altough not formal documentation exists. Walter and Sharples were friends. Actor Claude Raines owned house in late 1950's Roy Smith
