The Latest on How the Nor'easter Will Impact Pennsylvania

More than a foot of snow is possible in some areas.

The snow will start Wednesday evening, and it will just keep snowing.

Chester and Bucks counties will see up to 14 inches of snow, the National Weather Service said, while Delaware, Lehigh, Montgomery and Northampton counties will see 8 to 10 inches. Philadelphia will likely get 6 to 8 inches of snow, the NWS said.

The heaviest snow will come very early Thursday, when snow will fall at a rate of nearly 2 inches an hour.

“Icing due to freezing rain no longer appears to be a major threat from this event,” the NWS said. “However, heavy wet snow will cling to trees and wires.” There is a risk of power outages due to the weight of the snow, the NWS said. We will also see some sleet as the storm moves through our region.

Wind gusts of up to 35 mph will start Wednesday night and continue all day Thursday as the storm continues to blow. The high winds may lead to fallen trees and power outages, the NWS warned.

Temperatures will be cold, but not bitterly cold, which, the NWS said, “may help with road conditions.”

Wednesday’s evening commute should be fine, the NWS said, because the snow won’t start until about 8 p.m. But Thursday’s morning and evening commutes could have “major travel impacts,” the NWS said.
