Get Out: 5K for Public Education, Dracula, Motorcycle Toy Run and More

What's going on this weekend?

Are you looking for something to do this weekend? Check out these great local events.

5K For Public Education

  • When: Saturday, Oct. 27 at 9 a.m.
  • Where: Henderson High School, 400 Montgomery Avenue West Cheste
  • Why Go: Come out and help celebrate public education.  There will be different running events for ages pre-k through 8th grade, followed by a 5K run or 1 mile walk for all at 9:30 a.m.  The run benefits Scholarships for Henderson, East, and Rustin High School Students, and local charities.
  • Cost: $25 day of race registration, $5 kids races.

Parade of Pumpkins

  • When: Friday, Oct. 26 at 6:30 p.m.
  • Where: Chesterbrook Academy 1190 McDermott Drive, West Chester
  • Why Go:  3rd grade students will host their 9th annual Parade of Pumpkins events to support Alex's Lemonade Stand. School community will create spooky and festive jac-o-laterns and line them along the school for a spooktacular parade.  Refreshments will be on sale and all profits support Alex's Lemonade Stand. 
  • Cost: Free

Second Annual Chester County Motorcycle Toy Run

  • When: Sunday, Oct. 28 from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
  • Where: Ram's Head Bar & Grill, 40 E Market Street, West Chester
  • Why Go: Ride for a great cause.  Meet at West Chester Cycle at 10:00 a.m. and the ride will finish at Ram's Head Bar & Grill in West Chester. You don't have to ride to have a good time at Ram's.  There will be vendors, food and drink specials and live music.
  • Cost: New, unwrapped children's toy

Flesh Starts Here: Doc Magrogan's Costume Contest

  • When: Thursday, Oct. 25 from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m.
  • Where: Doc Magrogan’s
  • Why Go: Grab a costume and head to Doc Magrogan's for a chance to win $100, and definitely have a lot of fun.  They are awarding $100 to the best zombie, pirate, mermaid, and overall costume.  There will be drink specials and a DJ until midnight.

Brandywine Ballet Presents DRACULA

  • When: Friday, Oct. 26 at 10 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. & Saturday, Oct. 27 at 7:30 p.m.
  • Where: Emilie K. Asplundh Concert Hall, 700 S. High St., West Chester
  • Why Go: What better way to kick off the Halloween week? The   Brandywine Ballet is presenting Nancy Page’s DRACULA, based on the 19th century Bram Stoker novel. 
  • Cost: $25, $30, $40 - Senior, University, Group Discounts Available

Department of Theatre & Dance Presents SHE LOVES ME

  • When: Friday at 8 p.m., Saturday at 8 p.m., Sunday at 2 p.m.
  • Where: West Chester University, Madeleine Wing Adler Theatre, Swope Performing Arts Center
  • Why Go: If you are in the mood for romance, check out She Loves Me, a warm romantic comedy that was the basis for the movie "You've Got Mail."
  • Cost: $12-$15, Reserved Seating

Thank You Event at Chester County Book & Music Co.

  • When: Friday, Oct. 26 from 6 - 9 p.m.
  • Where: Chester County Book & Music Company
