Get Out: Turkey Burner, Small Business Saturday and More

Are you looking for something to do this weekend? Check out these great local events.

Turkey Burner 5K

  • When: Friday, Nov. 23 at 8:30 a.m.
  • Where:  
  • Why Go: Come out to the 5th annual Turkey Burner 5k on Black Friday.  Start your day with a good race over the Downtown West Chester Course.  Then take advantage of some Of the great shops in West Chester to get your Holiday shopping finished, or started, early. Post-race party at Kildare's.
  • Cost: $25

Small Business Saturday

  • When: Saturday, Nov. 24
  • Where: Downtown West Chester
  • Why Go: Small Business Saturday is a national initiative that declares a day to support the local businesses that create jobs, boost the economy, and preserve neighborhoods around the country. Come out and support the small shops and restaurants that make West Chester so special.
  • Cost: Free

Christmas Tree Train

  • When: Sundays from Nov. 25 - Dec. 9, 8 a.m. - 10 a.m.
  • Where: West Chester Railroad Company
  • Why Go: Bring the family on this special adventure.  It starts at Market St Station at 8 a.m.  Have coffee, cocoa and donuts on the way to Wiggins Tree Farm where you will pick and cut down your own Christmas tree.  Your tree will then be placed onto our flat car, which will be in tow on our train. At 9:45 AM, passengers will then board the train and be brought back to West Chester where you will be assisted in off loading your Christmas trees. There is no Santa on this train.
  • Cost: $8 - $14 *Tree - $40

Santa's Express

  • When: Nov. 23, 24, 25, Dec. 1, 2, 8, 9. 15, 16, at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
  • Where: West Chester Railroad Company
  • Why Go: Join Santa for a 90 minute journey on a heated decorated train through the Chester Creek Valley. Santa will be greeting everyone at Market Street Station and then going along for the ride to Glen Mills. Once at Glen Mills passengers can disembark and explore the historic station and have a chance to sit on Santa's lap. Upon return to West Chester, all passengers receive treats from Santa!
  • Cost: $6 - $20
