Wheels For Joann Fundraiser

  • When: Saturday, Oct. 20 at 6:30 - 10:30 p.m.
  • Where: Saint Agnes, Thomas Patrick Hall, 233 W Gay Street
  • Why Go: On April 5, 2011, Joann Rongaus suffered a fall that left her a paraplegic. Life has been a challenge for Joann and her family and a motorized wheel chair and wheelchair accessable van would not only make life easier, but wheels mean freedom.  As of right now, the family has to rent a van well in advance of wanting to go anywhere. Ken and Joann have always been active members of the community and local business owners. Come out, have italian food, beer and enjoy some entertainment for a great cause.  There will be raffle and silent auction items as well. For more informaiton, please visit their Facebook page.
  • Cost: $35 for adults and $5 for children 4-12

Fall Fest Yard Sale

  • When: Sunday, Oct. 21 from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
  • Where: Melton Center, 501 E Miner St, West Chester
  • Why Go: Melton Center Fall Fest Yard Sale begins at 10 AM. There will be arts & crafts for kids and food sales by Jimmy Davis catering. Shop early and enjoy the  Rustin Boy's Basketball Tournament, beginning at 1PM at the Center.  Table space is $25 - all proceeds benefit New Directions after-school program. Registration forms at www.meltoncenter.org.

Fall Music Fest

  • When: Sunday, Oct. 21 from 4 - 10 p.m.
  • Where: Melton Center, 501 E Miner St, West Chester
  • Why Go: After a day at the yard sale, watching basketball tournaments and having fun, enjoy a night of live music with the family.  Ben and the Brontosaurus & Pro Post Time Ganou, GMR, Keepers, Murph, Pistachio Flavored Shoes, The Reflexes and Vita and the Wolf.
  • Cost: Free

Great Pumpkin Express

  • Where: West Chester Railroad Company
  • Why Go: There are only two weekends to take a ride on the Great Pumpkin Express! Ride the 'haunted train' as friendly ghoulish crew hand out treats to all passengers. Everyone is welcome to dress up in his or her Halloween costumes. Not too scary for the little ones! Join us for some Halloween fun while you enjoy the Chester Creek autumn scenery from our heated train on this 90 minute ride!
