A Little Midsummer Night Music
The West Chester-based Chester County Concert band is a hit in Delaware County.
Chester County musicians ventured into Delaware County Wedneaday evening to perform at Rose Tree Park on Route 252 in Media. The concert was part of Delaware County's annual Summer Festival which features free live performances every Wednesday-Sunday.
The West Chester-Based Chester County Concert Band is made up of volunteer musicians who play for the fun and love of it.
The band rehearses on Wednesday nights during the fall, winter, and spring at Fugett Middle School next door to East High School. In the summer the band "just plays concerts" on Wednesday, according to the band's website.
Conductor David Reiff leads the band. Reiff is the band director at Radnor Middle School in Wayne. It's been a busy week for the musicians who played their third annual Fourth of July concert at Wilson Farm Park in Tredyffrin Township last Thursday.
