I will never vote for Truitt after his horrendous votes on women's health issues, education and environmental issues. If he was a true fiscal conservative he would see that cutting the budget today increases the cost to us all down the line. Bret spoke about that and he made much more fiscal sense than Truitt. Truitt is a right wing conservative and that is unacceptable today. He voted for the budget and tucked in there was salary and benefit increases for the legislature.

Brett Binder is what we need for public education! Unfortunately, Truitt has not done enough on the education committee as far as advocating for public education. Truitt doesn't even send his kids to public schools. They are in charters. Charter school funding needs to be addressed and he is not motivated to do it. Good luck Brett!

Interested observer, it appears you do not have to be intelligent nor observational to be an interested observer in your case. Because if you had intelligence and such skills you would realize how preposterous your comment is. Asking for money for a political campaign in any medium is standard. Apparently you don't understand campaign finance and that money begets money and ultimately wins campaigns. I am sure Mr. Truitt would agree with this statement. In fact he has asked for money in newspapers before ; ). Moreover, in relation to the myriad of political scandals throughout the state in the last decade it is shocking you would ever suggest that this is the lowest you have ever seen a politician stoop. Perhaps mid-night pay raises, stealing from court bankrolls, using political staff for campaign purposes and the many other indictments that have been uncovered over the years with various politicians is standard for your kind and does not begin to approach the level of evil of asking for money on a political campaign in a blog post. Next time when you decided to open your mouth please think before you type.

Oh and Star Thrower, you and interested observer must have dropped out of the same high school because Mr. Binder is clearly not married and has said so openly in before. Please people check your facts.

Unions served a purpose at one time, when employees were extremely abused by employers – but those times, at least in the United States and other “modern” nations, are done. Teachers Unions are generally about organized blackmail .. If they were not, then I would be be making a different comment. They’ve generally outlived not only their usefulness, but any real memory of why they existed in the first place, and the best thing we can do to unions like the teachers unions is simply close their doors.

The 2011-12 state PSSA results show declines across the board, and fewer districts and schools making Adequate Year Progress.  Here are some key facts concerning this latest development, and what lawmakers can do to help children in the worst-performing schools:

Cyber Schools Under Unfair Attack
While cyber schools are similar to school districts in both size and age groups served, they are assessed at a higher standard than school districts because of a flaw in Pennsylvania's education assessment system. To make adequate yearly progress, districts need to meet performance goals for only one age group, whether elementary, middle or high school. In contrast, individual schools including cyber schools must meet AYP standards overall, or they fail.

Your video was the same old gobbledygook we hear from every candidate who turned out to be feathering their own future - your pandering to the teachers union to get votes is obvious, but private sector homeowners will not be fooled by your veiled threat to vote to raise property taxes if the state has no more money for education (which they obviously do not).

The only possible thing that will nullify your WC Vote love affair to me, is an in depth detail of how you will STOP hydraulic fracturing .. not how you intend to tax it at a higher rate for the general fund, and not how you will study the reports (which you already should have done if you care about ever drinking water again) .. but how you will actually STOP THE DRILLING.
