West Chester seventh-grader Alexander Weir received a commendation from Mayor Carolyn Comitta

West Chester seventh grader and Stetson Middle School student Alexander Weir received a commendation from West Chester Mayor Carolyn Comitta on Wednesday night for his accomplishments in fiddling.

Weir recently won a regional competition in Irish-style fiddling and will go on to represent the United States in a worldwide competition in Ireland in August.

Weir began playing the violin at the age of three, and began to show an interest in Irish-style fiddling as he got older.
