The Associated Press reports that West Chester resident Morgan Mengel has been sentenced to life in prison after she plead guilty to plotting her husband's death over two years ago.

According to the Associated Press, prosecuters said Mengel ordered her lover at the time to beat her husband, Kevin Mengel, to death with a shovel.

Mengel had originally been tried in early 2012, but the judge ordered a mistrial due to the court's inability to find an impartial jury.

The Associated Press reports that Mengel plead guilty because she wanted the healing process to begin.
